I Live For This! by Bill Plaschke

Having grown up in the Los Angeles area, I am big Dodger fan which naturally causes me to be a big Tommy Lasorda fan. The author, Bill Plaschke, has been writing articles for the Los Angeles Times for a while and I have always enjoyed his take on the Dodgers.

Plaschke's writes in a sharp and dynamic way which is great for a short article, however for an entire book, his writing style can become a bit annoying, but back to Tommy...

Lasorda is a Dodger legend. In fact, He is more than that. Lasorda is the Dodgers. His blood is Dodger blue. Tommy’s persona is not some sort of act; he is a true larger than life character. There is not a lot of depth to Tommy because he is such an outspoken, open man. So if you are looking for a book that dives into the complexities of Tommy, you will not find it because it does not exists. If you are looking for a book that is riddled with outlandish stories of the baseball's most charismatic manager, then this is your book.
