"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." -C.S. Lewis

Faith Statement:

God has covered me in His amazing grace and He continues to show me His love every single day. The ultimate goal of my life is to serve and glorify Christ in all that I do. Each day I attempt to love others and serve the Father with the strength and gifts given to me by the Holy Spirit.

Life Verse:

"Do everything in love." -I Corinthians 14:16

I know it may feel a little bit contrived to have a "favorite" verse, or a "life" verse, but I think it important for me to have a short phrase or passage that I can continuously repeat throughout the day to humble me and remind me to love and serve others.

I love this short verse from Paul's first letter to the church in Corinth, because it is such a small verse with so much impact. The command to love is so simple yet so overwhelming at the same time.

When I think of this verse, I ask myself, "How can I do everything...in love?" First I think of silly things: how do I brush my teeth - in love? how do I comb my hair - in love? But then I start thinking about real things, activities that I do everyday that can be transformed by love. How do I send this e-mail - in love? How do I greet my co-workers - in love? How do I greet a complete stranger - in love? How do I react to someone or something that angers me - in love?

When I take the time to think about how I can incorporate loving others into my everyday life, what kind of impact will I have?
